THE ROLE : The Regional Field Operator (CDL) will be responsible for supporting the delivery, installation, and operation of Xylem equipment on Xylem Service Center sites and/or Customer jobsites in an assigned territory. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES : To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Operate a CDL A, Semi Truck with Flatbed trailer regionally

  • Prior pipe fusion machine experience with pipe diameters ranging from 4 inch to 36 inch

  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing as directed on Godwin fleet equipment between each rental.

  • Perform an initial inspection of Godwin fleet equipment for possible damages; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager.

  • Create an accurate and legible parts and repair list for assigned fleet equipment.

  • Safely and effectively operate a company vehicle for extended periods of time throughout cities, job sites, major highways and interstates (including tunnels and bridges) and in all weather conditions

  • Review list of parts with Service Manager and obtain approval to continue with servicing and repair.

  • Repair damaged equipment.

  • Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality. Perform preventative maintenance on shop equipment as directed (air dryer, chain saws, etc.). Perform related duties as assigned

  • Travel: more than 75%

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High school or general equivalency degree

  • HDPE fusion certification preferred

  • Possess a Class A Drivers License, with good driving record

  • Capable of safely operating diesel powered hydraulic lifting equipment: i.e. forklifts, front end loaders, tow motors, etc.

  • Safely and effectively operate a company vehicle for extended periods of time throughout cities, job sites, major highways and interstates (including tunnels and bridges) and in all weather conditions

  • Prior pipe fusion experience with pipe diameters ranging from 4 inch to 36 inch

  • Valid DOT Medical Card

DAY IN THE LIFE :

In this role, the working environment is subject to temperature fluctuations, noise, and fumes within limits of OSHA standards; use of Personal Protective Equipment and breathing apparatus required. The physical demands may include but not limited to standing for long periods of time, reaching, bending, and moving about the facility, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Extended hours (weekends, overtime, on call rotations) and travel as required.
