Xylem is seeking Software Engineer Intern candidates to join our team.
As a member of the team you would . . .
Utilize programming skills to create various Dashboards within Jira to display our Metrics and statistics.
Working on small development projects mainly in Java.
Be involved in integrating various reports for our existing and new customers.
Troubleshoot, and resolve customer issues.
Be involved in the verification process when upgrading customers.
Attend all relevant meetings, i.e. Daily Standup, Planning & Replenishment, Backlog Refinement.
Identify areas where process improvements are needed and document the new process.
Follow software development methodologies and best practices.
Assist in system improvements and bug fixing
Xylem Summer Internships typically last 10-12 weeks and are an opportunity to get hands-on, professional experience while making a lasting contribution to Xylem as an organization. Our internship program is intended to create a pipeline of talented undergraduate students who are interested in a career in the water innovation technology industry. Interns are our primary talent pool for all full-time early career positions and rotational programs. The Summer Internship is a great opportunity to learn more about Xylem and see if a career in water technology is right for you.
The hourly rate for an intern is dependent on a variety of factors including major, year in school and geographic location. The average hourly rate for an intern is between $21.00 - $27.00/hour. Locations of internships will vary based on the specified project and function, and will either be on-site, hybrid or fully remote.
Qualifications:
Attending an accredited University studying toward a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Engineering includes but not limited to Computer, Electrical, Mechanical and/or Systems Engineering
Minimum rising junior in standing
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Data Science skills, Software Development skills, Database SQL skills
Familiarity in using tools such as Eclipse, JIRA, Confluence,
Experience using Java, Spring Boot, Linux, SQL, MongoDB, Git/Bitbucket
Excellent communications skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Problem solving skills
Ability to take responsibility and function under minimal supervision
Ability to function well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Salary range:
$45,000.00 - $72,000.00
