THE ROLE: The Sr. Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing overall financial support for achieving performance goals (i.e., operating margins, operating cash flow, inventory turns, A/R Days, A/P Days, cycle time reduction, etc. Assists as required with monthly and quarterly financial submissions and presentation to management as well as ad hoc analysis.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Supports the overall forecast and budget for the Xylem HQ Functions through understanding of the revenue, margins, expenses, capital, special projects, headcount, etc. ensuring clear understanding of all variances and critical evaluation of input. (Key result: All variances from forecast, budget and prior year can be adequately explained, and improvements that can be made to enhance future forecast accuracy)

  • Prepares the monthly/quarterly/annual reporting requirements for headquarters and internal Senior Leaders

  • Partner with functional leaders to prepare forecasts/budgets

  • Prepare and review monthly variance analysis with functional partners

  • Create and drive a continuous improvement culture and with a focus on automation and simplification

  • Partner with the Americas Accounting organization to ensure any accounting treatment impacts are accurately and adequately forecasted and understood

  • Ad hoc reporting

  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on organization needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or financial/accounting with minimum 5 years of business experience

  • Must have a working knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“US GAAP)

  • Must have the ability to engage business process owners in a direct yet professional manner, thoroughly evaluate business processes, and quickly identify potential control gaps

  • Requires demonstrated skill in written and oral communications

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and OneStream skills. Oracle / SAP knowledge preferred

  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized

  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated

The estimated salary range at this professional level is $95,000 to $115,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
