THE ROLE : The Sr. State Tax Analyst will assist with United States Federal and State tax reporting and compliance procedures. The Senior Tax Analyst will support the tax department by assisting in preparation of State corporate income tax returns, quarterly State tax provision calculations, along with providing general tax department support services.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Assist with quarterly and annual United States domestic tax provisions, including state tax current and deferred rates and state modifications using OneSource tax provision

  • Preparation and analysis of State book/tax differences for provision and tax return preparation

  • Assist with preparation/review of State income/franchise tax filings including estimated payments and extensions.

  • Respond to and resolve tax notices and communicate with taxing jurisdictions as necessary

  • Assist Tax Department with one-off projects connected with or primarily impacted by US State income tax matters on US operations

  • Assist with implementation of tax system upgrades and process improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required. MS in Taxation or working towards a degree is preferred. CPA certification desirable.

  • Minimum of one to two years of tax experience in Federal and State income taxation with emphasis on U.S. tax law as applied to corporations. Experience with the application of U.S. tax law to foreign operations of U.S. multinationals a plus.

  • Experience preparing Federal, State and Local consolidated, Unitary and separate corporate tax returns.

  • Strong Excel skills and knowledge of OneSource preferred.

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $125,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
