Xylem Operations Supply Chain Manager in Nottingham, United Kingdom

Responsible for the full end-to-end suppychain to include; Procurement & Purchasing, Logistics and Inventory.

  • Reviewing and updating supply chain strategy and practices in line with company policies, standards, laws and regulations

  • Negotiating terms and prices with suppliers and freight companies, monitoring and assessing their performance and maintaining cost-effective practices

  • Implementing logistic strategies, tracking of goods from the origination point to the warehouse

  • Analysing the supply chain data and solving any issues or putting alternative plans in place

  • Identifying and minimising risk by predicting the demand for products

  • Managing inventory, ensuring correct levels to support business demand, and reduction in excess stock impacting budgetary levels

  • Maintaining an accurate inventory database that includes detailed information on available stock

  • Working closely with sales, and other relevant departments to organise the efficient flow of inventory

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: Warehouse Operations team, Continuous Improvement team, Sales team, Procurement Team, Inventory Team

  • External: Suppliers/Customers

REQUIRED SKILLS / EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferably 5-10 years relevant Procurement, purchasing, logistics and Inventory experience

  • Excellent planning and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy

  • Complex problem solving skills

  • Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to implement change

  • Strategic planning, systems analysis and evaluation

  • In-depth understanding of risk management within the supply chain of the company

  • Strong leadership, team coaching and development skills

  • Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business and to determine business and customer needs

  • Performing all procurement activities including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts and tender management

  • Managing overall direction, coordination and evaluation of procurement & Purchasing

  • Working knowledge of inventory management software and other relevant programs

  • Strong analytical skills to accurately forecast inventory needs
